Doing business in Australia - an overview
15 September 2009
Minter Ellison has recently updated the Doing Business in Australia publication, which is an overview guide to establishing a business presence in Australia and to various aspects of regulation applying to Australian businesses.
The Australian economy continues to remain relatively resilient.
We are continuing to see strong capital raising activity by listed entities. Mergers and acquisitions activity is also gaining pace across a number of sectors in addition to mining and resources, which has been bolstered by continuing strong demand from China. In part, this increase in activity has been driven by companies looking to strengthen their balance sheets by disposing of non-core assets. There have also been corporate collapses in the agricultural managed investment scheme sector that will see forestry, vineyard and orchard assets being marketed over the coming months.
We invite you to read the publication or to contact us for further information or if you would like to receive a copy of the Mandarin or Spanish versions of Doing Business in Australia.
