Minter Ellison supports Breast Cancer ACTION month
9 October 2009
Minter Ellison Rudd Watts is proud to join the hundreds of generous New Zealanders who fundraise in Breast Cancer ACTION Month by sponsoring the Auckland Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) to raise money for the Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition, a charity which provides a united voice for New Zealand women who have experienced breast cancer.
The AWLA ‘Pink Tea Party’ event will be held in the Minter Ellison Rudd Watts Auckland office with all proceeds from ticket sales being contributed to the Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition.
Pink Tea Party participants will enjoy drinks and canapés and have the opportunity to participate in a live auction with many items on offer that have been donated by people incluing Liz Mitchell, Nicholas Jermyn, Katie Gold, Juliette Hogan and many more.
Today, 9 October 2009, marks the day of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation's ( NZBCF) largest fundraising event, The Pink Ribbon Challenge. The Challenge centres on the number ‘9' because it is such an important number for NZBCF; 1 in 9 New Zealand women have a lifetime risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The AWLA is a representative organisation of women lawyers supported by a broad membership including barristers and solicitors, women judges, as well as corporate counsel. AWLA was formed over twenty years ago and is now recognised as a valuable forum for women lawyers in the Auckland area to make and strengthen contacts.
