Minter Ellison Rudd Watts welcomes litigation specialist
25 August 2011
Andy Glenie has joined the litigation team at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts as a senior associate. Andy is a senior litigator with a strong background in competition and regulatory law.
Andy returned to New Zealand in 2009 after spending five years abroad working with Freehills in Sydney and with Herbert Smith in London. He joins Minter Ellison from Russell McVeagh.
Andy has advised on competition and regulation matters for clients in the energy, telecommunications, transport and banking sectors. He has also recently completed a six-month secondment to a major telecommunications company, as part of the internal competition and regulatory team. In addition, Andy has wide experience in conducting complex commercial litigation for energy, mining, IT and financial services clients, in both Australasia and the United Kingdom.
Head of the firm’s competition team, Andy Matthews, said the firm was delighted to deepen the team even further with someone of Andy’s calibre, particularly in the telecommunications and regulatory sphere where we have been expanding. “I know him from a number of years ago when he was working at another New Zealand firm on a financial services competition matter, and he was already very well-regarded.”
Andy is based in the firm’s Wellington office.
