Key sponsor of 'Hot Topic' book launch
Minter Ellison Rudd Watts is one of the key sponsors behind a recently launched book, Hot Topic: Global warming and the future of New Zealand, by Gareth Renowden. The Hon. David Cunliffe officially launched the book at a function held at the Minter Ellison Rudd Watts' Auckland office on 1 August.
Hot Topic puts climate change into its New Zealand context and examines how the science of global warming will change NZ's climate, what current and future governments can do to address the problem, and how individuals and businesses can respond to the challenge. Minter Ellison Rudd Watts recognises the challenges that arise from climate change and we are working with our private and public sector clients to ensure that they can effectively respond to such challenges. Some of our work in the sustainability and climate change area has included implementation of the Kyoto Protocol (particularly in the New Zealand context), negotiation of Negotiated Greenhouse Agreements with the New Zealand Government, forestry and renewable energy projects, and consideration of the emissions trading schemes being proposed for Australia and New Zealand.
