  • Drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on a variety of commercial agreements, including business ownership and transfer, confidentiality, financing, joint ventures, sale and purchase, services, shareholders, and supply
  • Advising clients on a range of information technology and intellectual property issues including hardware and software supply and support, licensing and the management of intellectual property assets
  • Advising public sector clients in relation to their statutory powers and functions
  • Advising clients on legislative requirements and a range of commercial compliance issues, including in relation to advertising material and competition terms and conditions, email disclaimers, website and online services terms and conditions and privacy policies
  • Advising Advanced Metering Services (a joint venture between Vector and Siemens) in concluding arrangements relating to the installation, maintenance, and operation of new ‘smart’ electricity meters to service arrangements with electricity suppliers including Genesis Energy and Contact. This has included negotiating and drafting contracts for the provision of metering services to NGCM Metering, and the procurement of telecommunication services
  • Advising the New Zealand Racing Board on the licensing of race coverage and racing information and the co-mingling of betting pools between Australia and New Zealand
  • Negotiating, drafting and managing information technology contracts and a range of other commercial contracts with suppliers of products and services to EDS in New Zealand, Australia, and throughout the Asia-Pacific region
  • Advising the State Services Commission on all aspects of the development and roll-out of the Government Logon Service and advising in relation to the proposed Identity Verification Service
  • Advising film financiers and producers on a number of feature film and television projects including "Whale Rider", "In My Father's Den", "River Queen", "The World's Fastest Indian", "The Vintners Luck", "Under The Mountain", and "Boy"
  • Advising the New Zealand Film Commission on film distribution agreements and intellectual property rights issues
  • Advising Fly Buys on aspects of the Fly Buys programme, including commercial compliance issues such as the Fair Trading Act
  • Assisting Zespri on the acquisition of the intellectual property rights in Gold Kiwifruit from HortResearch and drafting research and development agreements between Zespri and HortResearch and other service providers
  • Advising Museum of Te Papa in relation to exhibitions, including "The Lord of the Rings" exhibition
