MinterEllisonRuddWatts has once again earned a place among New Zealand’s top legal workplaces, being named in the NZ Lawyer 5-Star Employer of Choice 2025 list.
This annual recognition highlights law firms that are setting the benchmark for employee engagement through progressive policies and initiatives across leadership, remuneration, and wellbeing.
Renowned for its inclusive and values-driven culture, MinterEllisonRuddWatts continues to lead the profession in transparency and equity. The firm was the first in New Zealand to disclose gender and ethnicity pay gaps via the “Mind The Gap” registry, and in 2021 became the first large law firm to be accredited as a Living Wage Employer.
As a founding member of Global Women’s Champions for Change, the firm actively champions workplace diversity. Today, 42% of its partners and 68% of senior lawyers identify as women – figures that reflect its ongoing commitment to gender equity. It is also one of just 15 firms to have signed the NZ Law Society’s Gender Equality Charter.
Chief Executive Andrew Poole commented: “We’re proud to be recognised once again as an Employer of Choice. Our culture is anchored in values like waka eke noa – working together with respect for individuality. This recognition reflects the strength of our people and the environment we’ve built to support their growth and success.”
