Senior Associate - Banking and Finance

Allison is a banking and finance lawyer with 15 years’ experience advising both financiers and borrowers on all types of financing transactions and banking matters. Allison has extensive international and domestic expertise having recently returned to New Zealand after working on high-profile, cross-border deals in Singapore for the last ten years.

Allison is known for being responsive, easy to deal with and pragmatic. She is passionate what she does and her commitment to clients shows. Allison is a logical thinker, calm under pressure, and solution oriented.

Her experience spans general corporate lending, property finance, acquisition finance, and trade and commodity finance. Allison is sought out for her sustainable finance experience, having worked on some of Singapore’s ‘market firsts’ and largest deals which helped shape the market. She brings that experience to the New Zealand market and continues to work on market leading sustainable financing transactions in New Zealand.

Having spent several years in-house at global banks, she has a unique understanding of the environment in which banks operate and uses this knowledge to find workable solutions for all parties. With excellent project management skills, she provides commercially attuned advice to help clients complete their most important transactions.

Allison began working at MinterEllisonRuddWatts in 2007 before moving to Singapore in 2011 to work for the banking and finance team of global law firm, Baker McKenzie.

Acted for the mandated lead arrangers on the GBP1,500,000,000 financing for the acquisition and development of three sites in London located at Arrowhead Quay, London City Island and Embassy Gardens.

Sustainable borrowing base facility

Advised one of the lenders on the USD50,000,000 emerging markets sustainable borrowing base facility to a global agri-commodity trading and processing company.

Sustainability linked loan

Advised the sustainability coordinator and one of the lenders on the USD525,000,000 sustainability-linked revolving working capital facility for a major global food and agri-business company.

Acquisition finance

Acted for an international bank on the USD280,000,000 loan facility agreement for the acquisition of listed shares in a well-known listed Indonesian mining company.

Receivables purchase program

Advised one of the lenders on the limited recourse receivables purchase program for the international arm of one of China’s largest food companies.
