Kate specialises in complex cross-border private wealth and personal tax planning matters.
Kate acts for individuals and families both here in New Zealand and abroad, advising them on all aspects of trust law, personal asset structuring, estate and succession planning, family governance and personal tax planning. This includes advising and supporting their family offices, trustees, foundations and other private asset-holding entities.
Kate’s expertise in multi-jurisdictional matters and dual perspective as both a private client and tax lawyer, enables her to provide sophisticated, fully integrated advice.
After starting her legal career in Auckland, Kate spent several years practising in a leading London private client and tax team. That international grounding continues to distinguish her practice. Kate is known for providing clear, practical advice and for taking a highly collaborative and proactive approach when working alongside other professional advisers.
Kate returned to New Zealand in 2022, working as a specialist tax lawyer at a Big Four firm in Auckland before joining MinterEllisonRuddWatts in 2026.
