Participation in The Chancery Lane Project

MinterEllisonRuddWatts has been actively engaged in The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP).  TCLP is a focused effort from lawyers around the world to develop contractual clauses to help fight climate change.  Climate change no longer lives in an environmental box, rather it is a central element of commercial decision making. MinterEllisonRuddWatts is the only New Zealand Law firm currently engaged in the initiative.

Over the last few weeks, the team has achieved:

  • The first clauses being introduced into a MinterEllisonRuddWatts’ contract;
  • Client engagement and education on TCLP across all aspects of the firm; and
  • Collaboration through working groups to help draft new model clauses.

Our next steps will be focused on amending and integrating the clauses to make them more applicable to the New Zealand context.  If you would like to discuss the TCLP initiative or how these new clauses can be integrated into your contracts going forward, please get in touch with Scott Thompson or Rachel Devine.
