For the third consecutive year, leading law firm MinterEllisonRuddWatts took home the Consumer, Media and Technology Deal of the Year award at the highly contested New Zealand Law Awards.
The firm was recognised for acting for Affinity Equity Partners on Bounty Fresh’s takeover of Tegel at the prestigious awards held in Auckland last night.
Andrew Poole, Chief Executive of MinterEllisonRuddWatts, is pleased with the industry’s recognition of the firm’s expertise in delivering exceptional commercial solutions.
“This transaction involved innovative thinking to develop a takeover structure that ensured our client had the certainty it needed to proceed with the exit from its investment in Tegel via a public takeover.
“Led by Corporate Partner Mark Stuart, our exceptional Corporate team delivered an excellent commercial outcome for our client.
“We are proud to have worked with Affinity Equity Partners since 2011 when it first acquired Tegel.”
The law firm was awarded the top accolade in 2018 for acting on New Zealand’s first telecommunications network sharing arrangement, and in 2017 for advising MediaWorks on its launch of Bravo channel.
Congratulations also to Downer New Zealand’s Chief Legal Counsel, Marion Franks on being named MinterEllisonRuddWatts In-house Lawyer of the Year.
Marion played an integral role in the successful completion of Downer’s purchase of Hawkins, a $60.5 million transaction in 2017. The acquisition grew Downer’s presence in the infrastructure market to become New Zealand’s second largest vertical construction company.
